Find a Customs Office or Refund Point in France
To receive your VAT refund, your tax-free form must be validated by customs before leaving France or the European Union.
Where to Validate Your tax-free form in France
Customs validation is a mandatory step to obtain your VAT refund. In France, validation can be completed at several types of locations.
Look for signs indicating “Détaxe – Tax Refund” or “Douanes françaises – French Customs” in departure or arrival areas.
International Airports
Validation must be completed before checking in your luggage. Most French airports are equipped with PABLO kiosks for electronic validation and, depending on the terminal, customs offices where an officer can manually validate your tax-free form.
International Train Stations
Some stations serving international routes may have a PABLO kiosk or a customs office, usually located before the international boarding area.
Road Border Crossings
If you leave France by road, some border crossings are equipped with validation devices, either a PABLO kiosk or a customs office.
